WHAT WE BUILD AND HOW WE BUILD IT

Since 1983, Schrapper’s Fine Cabinetry has built over 10,000 custom projects from our Jupiter workshop. Every cabinet we deliver uses furniture-grade hardwood plywood with solid hardwood face frames, soft-close hinges, full-extension drawer slides, and hand-applied finishes. That’s not an upgrade—it’s our standard. We build this way because the difference between cabinetry that lasts 30 years in South Florida and cabinetry that starts warping in five comes down to what’s behind the doors. Particleboard swells. MDF sags. Hardwood plywood doesn’t.

We design and build full custom kitchen cabinetry—islands, pantry towers, appliance garages—as well as bathroom vanitiescloset systemsoutdoor kitchen cabinetry, and wall units, home offices, and built-in entertainment centers. We also handle laundry rooms, mudrooms, butler’s pantries, and those odd-shaped nooks that stock cabinets can’t touch.

If it involves wood, joinery, and a client who cares about the details, we’ve built it before. And we’ll build it to last.

WHY MATERIALS AND CONSTRUCTION METHODS ACTUALLY MATTER

Clients often ask what separates custom cabinetry from semi-custom or stock options at big-box stores. The answer comes down to construction, materials, and fit. Our cabinet boxes use plywood rated to Architectural Woodwork Institute standards, with hardwood face frames joined using mortise-and-tenon joinery—not staples or pocket screws. Doors and drawer fronts are solid North American hardwoods like maple, cherry, white oak, and walnut. Every hinge is a soft-close European concealed model (Blum or Grass), and drawers ride on full-extension undermount slides rated for 75 to 100 pounds.

Painted finishes—whites, grays, blues, greens—have been the most requested style in our area for years, especially in coastal kitchens. They’re beautiful, but we’re upfront with every client: painted cabinets will develop hairline cracks at joint lines over time as wood expands and contracts with South Florida’s humidity. It’s not a defect, it’s just wood being wood. If that would bother you, a stained finish on a tight-grained species like maple is a better choice. We’d rather have that conversation now than surprise you two years later.

For outdoor kitchen projects, we use marine-grade plywood and stainless steel hardware exclusively. Standard interior materials won’t survive the salt air and rain cycles here. We’ve seen competitors’ outdoor cabinets delaminate in under two years because they used interior plywood with a waterproof topcoat—once the finish fails, the substrate is exposed. Marine-grade through and through is the only way we build for exterior spaces in South Florida

WHO WE WORK WITH

Most of our clients fall into three categories. First, homeowners tackling a full kitchen or bath renovation who’ve outgrown builder-grade cabinets and want something that actually fits how they live. Second, new construction clients working with builders or architects who need cabinetry beyond the standard allowance. Third, homeowners with one specific project—a home office built-in, a master closet system, a laundry room reworked—who want it done right the first time, not cobbled together from stock parts.

We serve homes throughout Jupiter, Palm Beach Gardens, Tequesta, Juno Beach, Hobe Sound, Palm City, Stuart, West Palm Beach, Palm Beach, Boca Raton, and Delray Beach. All work is built in our Jupiter shop and installed by our team. Kitchen projects typically start around $30,000 and scale from there based on size, wood species, door style, and hardware. After your design consultation, you’ll get a detailed written estimate that breaks down every line item—no surprises, just straightforward pricing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, Schrapper's Fine Cabinetry offers financing options to help make your custom kitchen cabinet project more accessible. We've partnered with trusted financing providers to offer flexible payment plans that fit a variety of budgets. During your consultation, we'll discuss financing options and help you find a solution that works for your project. Can I get a free consultation for custom kitchen cabinets installation? +
Absolutely! Schrapper's Fine Cabinetry offers complimentary design consultations for all custom kitchen cabinet projects. You can visit our Jupiter showroom at 240 W Indiantown Rd or schedule an in-home consultation throughout West Palm Beach and Palm Beach County. During your free consultation, our designers will discuss your vision, assess your space, review material options, and provide a detailed estimate—all with no obligation.
How long does it usually take to install custom kitchen cabinets? +
The installation of custom kitchen cabinets typically takes 1-3 days once the cabinetry arrives from our fabrication shop. However, the complete project timeline from initial consultation to finished installation is usually 8-12 weeks. This includes design and 3D rendering (1-2 weeks), material selection and approval, custom fabrication in our Jupiter workshop (4-6 weeks), and professional installation. Complex projects with specialty features may take additional time.
What design styles are trending for custom kitchen cabinets? +
The most popular design styles for custom kitchen cabinets in South Florida currently include Transitional (our most requested style, blending traditional warmth with contemporary clean lines), Contemporary (featuring flat-panel doors, minimal hardware, and sleek finishes), and Coastal (light, airy designs with white or natural wood tones perfect for Florida living). We're also seeing increased interest in mixed-finish kitchens combining painted and stained cabinets, integrated appliance panels, and statement islands with contrasting colors.
Which brands provide the most durable custom kitchen cabinets? +
At Schrapper's Fine Cabinetry, we don't rely on outside brands—we design and build our own custom kitchen cabinets in-house at our Jupiter facility. This allows us to control every aspect of quality, from material selection to construction methods. Our cabinets feature furniture-grade plywood construction, solid hardwood face frames, dovetail drawer boxes, and soft-close hinges and drawer slides. This approach delivers superior durability compared to mass-produced cabinet brands, with craftsmanship backed by over 42 years of experience.
What are popular materials used in custom kitchen cabinets? +
The most popular materials for custom kitchen cabinets include solid hardwoods such as maple, cherry, walnut, and white oak for door frames and face frames. Cabinet boxes are typically constructed from furniture-grade plywood for strength and moisture resistance. Popular door styles feature either solid wood or MDF with premium veneers for painted finishes. For South Florida's humid climate, we recommend moisture-resistant materials and finishes specifically designed to withstand our tropical environment.
How much do custom kitchen cabinets typically cost? +
Custom kitchen cabinet costs vary significantly based on kitchen size, materials selected, door style, hardware, and design complexity. Most custom kitchen cabinet projects at Schrapper's range from $30,000 to $100,000 or more for large, high-end kitchens with premium features. Unlike stock or semi-custom cabinets, fully custom cabinetry is built to your exact specifications with superior materials and craftsmanship. We provide detailed, transparent quotes after an initial consultation where we assess your space and discuss your vision.

This collaborative process ensures you're completely satisfied with the design before we begin crafting your cabinetry.
